When you submit financial data on the FHR Exchange, you are sharing it with RapidRatings to produce a Financial Health Rating (FHR) for the client that requested it. This article explains who sees your submission, how the resulting rating is shared with your clients, what happens if another client later requests access to the rating, and the control you keep over disclosure at every step. For the technical security practices that protect your data in storage and transit, see Information Security Overview. For the legal protections, see Non-Disclosure Agreement.

Who sees the financial data you submit

RapidRatings analysts see the raw financial data you upload or enter so they can produce your FHR.

Whether the client who requested the rating also sees your underlying financial data depends on the disclosure level you set for that client. Full or standard disclosure shares the financial statements themselves. Limited disclosure shares only the rating with no raw financials. You can set disclosure per client and you can change it at any time. For the full breakdown of each disclosure level and what a client sees at each one, see Non-Disclosure Agreement.

Outside of RapidRatings and the clients you have authorized at the disclosure level you set, your submission is not shared with any other client, prospect, or third party. It is not sold, licensed, or made available for any purpose beyond producing the rating and reports you authorize.

Who sees the rating we produce from your data

Your FHR is shared with the client that originally requested the rating, at the disclosure level you set in your account. Disclosure levels decide what the client sees. You can set disclosure per client and can change it at any time from your account. For a full explanation of each disclosure level and how to change yours, see Non-Disclosure Agreement.

Your rating is not published publicly, listed in a directory, or made available for anyone to look up. It is accessible only to the clients you have authorized and to you.

What happens when another client requests access to your rating

Once you have a current rating on the FHR Exchange, another client that works with your company may request access to it rather than ask you to submit financials again. Re-sharing an existing rating is faster for both sides and avoids repeat work.

When a second client requests access, RapidRatings contacts you directly to let you know. You decide whether to authorize the share from your account. The new client receives nothing until you approve. Your original client is not notified of, and does not control, this decision. If you approve, the new client sees your rating at the disclosure level you set for them, which can be different from the level you set for your original client.

You can revoke a client's access at any time. For how to approve and revoke client access, see How much control do I have over my data?

How RapidRatings uses your data internally

Beyond producing your FHR and reports, RapidRatings uses submitted financial data in aggregate to maintain and improve the FHR model. Aggregate use means the data contributes to statistical patterns across a large population of companies. Your individual financials are not identifiable in model outputs, and no individual company's data is published or shared through model development work.

RapidRatings does not use your submitted financial data to train third-party AI models or large language models. Where RapidRatings uses AI vendors in its operations, the vendor categories and the data they handle are listed in the Vendor and Sub-Processor List.

How your data is protected

Your financial data is encrypted in transit and at rest, stored in ISO 27001:2022 and SOC 1 and SOC 2 certified US-based data centers, and governed by RapidRatings' ISO 27001:2022 certified information security program. The full practices are detailed in Information Security Overview. The legal protections, including the standard Non-Disclosure Agreement that applies to every member and the option to request a countersigned copy, are detailed in Non-Disclosure Agreement.

Frequently asked questions

Can the client that requested my rating see my raw financials? Only if you choose standard transparency. Limited transparency shares the rating only with no raw financials. You set the disclosure level, you can change it at any time, and it can be different for each client. For the full breakdown, see Non-Disclosure Agreement.

Does RapidRatings sell my financial data? No. Your submitted data is not sold, licensed, or shared outside of RapidRatings for any purpose beyond producing the rating.
